From a very young age I had an interest in medicine and health care. Growing up in South Dakota I was exposed to primarily the most conventional of Western medical care. I was a gymnast for many years until an extreme back injury put me into a constant state of pain. After seeing multiple doctors, the conclusion was that I would need to quit gymnastics all together and would most likely have to deal with being in pain for the rest of my life. Doctor after doctor, and through physical therapy nothing was alleviating my pain. The doctors I was seeing opted to increase or change medications as their way of trying to help, none of which were truly making a difference.About a year after my initial injury acupuncture was recommended to me. A few treatments in and I was feeling so much better, not only did I find relief from my back pain but the treatments also seemed to decrease the frequency and intensity of my migraines, along with elevating my mood and general outlook. I was curious about this “new” system of

medicine and wanted to know more about how it worked. As I started to learn more about the effectiveness of acupuncture in the treatment of a wide variety of conditions I decided this would be a truly amazing career path for me.After graduating from high school I moved to Boulder, Colorado to attend the University of Colorado in preparation for graduate school. I fell in love with the mountains and the lifestyle that Colorado gave me. I graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College in 2009 with a Master of Science of Oriental Medicine. As much as I loved Colorado, I was ready for a new adventure. Leaving the mountains for the ocean, I moved to Maui ready for the next chapter. Maui gave me so much love and knowledge. I met and married my husband there and also was blessed to practice acupuncture there. After a considerable amount of traveling and experiencing life in different parts of the country, my husband and I decided it was time to get back to the mountains. Settling in Granby has given me the privilege to practice in Grand county with the ability to bring Eastern medicine into mountains of Colorado. I really enjoy working with pain conditions, women’s health, and anxiety/depression. I look forward to treating a wide variety of conditions and am available to work with anyone ready to make improvements in their health, well-being, and quality of life.
