In a world where stress and stressors are all around us, we don't have to guess why people of all ages are experiencing an increasing rate of anxiety and depression. Feelings of extreme overwhelm, racing or ruminating thoughts, general fatigue, trouble sleeping at night, waking with no energy and struggling to get out of bed are all symptoms indicating you might be experiencing anxiety or depression. You don't have to be controlled by these feelings. Let us help you. Acupuncture works by regulating neurotransmitters and releasing endorphins (serotonin and dopamine). Regular treatment helps to bring the body's state back to homeostasis, leaving you feeling calm and better able to manage life's stress.

Peri/Post Menopause
A 28-32 day cycle, pain-free and no PMS? It's not a myth, it can happen. Many women are under the impression that periods are horrible and that's the way it is. This is not true, even if you have been diagnosed with PCOS, endometriosis or fibroids. Acupuncture is amazing at regulating hormones and your cycle, while also providing relief from pain and severe PMS symptoms. Menopause, the ceasing of menses, in traditional Chinese medicine should be a celebrated time for women. It is a transition time into more freedom and creativity. Our Western culture has pathologized peri/post menopause, making and marketing it into a disease. Yes, as with any time of change hormonally there can be symptoms that arise. Most commonly these emerge as hot flashes, night sweats, irritability, brain fog, decreased desire for intimacy and mood swings. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine will help to regulate the hormones, helping you ease through this transition

Neck/Shoulder/Back
Injury
It is reported that a little over 20% of Americans are experiencing chronic pain. Some people are debilitated by this pain, and others suffer a decreased quality of life due to the pain. Acupuncture is not a cure or quick fix for chronic pain, but through ongoing treatment can decrease pain levels experienced, provide more pain free days, and significantly improve your quality of life. If you have sustained an injury or are experiencing acute pain, acupuncture treatment will help get you back to pain free generally within 4-6 treatments. Acupuncture is also a wonderful adjunctive therapy in recovery following surgery. Treatment will help decrease recovery time, getting you back to your "normal" life sooner.

At your initial appointment we will talk with you extensively about all aspects of your health, health history and what concerns are bringing you into our clinic at the current time. We will also go over your advised treatment plan before starting with your first treatment. Acupuncture works through a series of treatments in a cumulative way, with each treatment building off the progress of the previous treatment. In general, for acute conditions, patients should expect their treatment plan to be 4-6 treatments. For chronic conditions, it is more likely to have 8-12 treatments in the series. Once completing your treatment series, it is recommended to all patients to continue with a "tune-up" treatment every 4-6 weeks.
